Reminiscent of the Victorian era when women wore white cotton petticoats, blouses, heavily embroidered white skirts, sleeves, this collage celebrates all of the hand work that went into the clothing of those times. All we have left are bits and pieces of the beauty and elegance of those days. I celebrate the innocence, the purity of the starched white garments worn by the children and women on hot summer days when they longed for the breezes to waft thru their long garments. Could we dress this way today? I doubt it; women do not even want to own irons any more.
